Registrars of Voters

About

The Registrars of Voters are elected officials of the Town of Essex, whose duty is to administer the election process according to state statutes and under the direction of the Secretary of State.

The Registrars have the responsibility of keeping the registry list current at all times. They receive applications from new voters, admit those who qualify and add their names to the registry in a timely fashion. Removals from the list are made due to electors’ deaths and people moving out of town.

To register to vote, you can fill out a form available at the Town Clerk’s office during office hours or have one mailed to you by calling the Registrar's office at 860-767-4340 x142.

You can also register online at https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do.

To check the status of your registration, go to https://portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx

If you have any questions you can email the office at mozols@essexct.gov or by calling 860-767-4340 x142.

Office Hours are Wednesdays from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm.
