Essex
Town Clerk Frances Nolin swears in Salvatore Bevilacqua as
the Town’s new police officer trainee. Bevilacqua has started at
the State Police Academy. First Selectman Philip Miller is left,
Selectman Norman Needleman is partially hidden and Selectman
Vincent Pacileo is in the background. Behind Bevilacqua are his parents
Giuseppe and Rose Bevilacqua and his fiancée Filomena
Robustelli.
Bevilacqua
was selected from a field of more than 50 applicants for the police officer
trainee. The selection process included written testing, two oral board
exams and a physical assessment. Bevilacqua is now attending the police
academy, a 22 week program. When he completes that training he will begin
a 10-week field training process with the Essex Police.
