Septic System Information
SEPTIC SYSTEM INFORMATION
Essex properties are served by on-site septic systems. The CT Public Health Code defines regulations and technical standards for design, construction, and installation of on-site septic systems. Additionally, the PHC defines how properties and buildings served by septic systems may be used, modified or changed with respect to the existing on-site septic system. Examples include building conversions/changes in use, additions, garages and other accessory structures, swimming pools, decks, patios, lot line changes, etc.
The appropriate application(s) listed below must be submitted to the Health Department for review and approval before installing, repairing or modifying any component of the septic system or before changes are made on the property.
