Essex Park and Recreation presents Yoga in the Park
Are you planning
on taking summer classes and looking for a way to get your mind
off the stressful schedule? Are you looking to improve your core
strength, flexibility, focus and concentration? Have you just always
wanted to give yoga a try? Then Main Street Park in Downtown Essex
is the place for you this summer.
Held outdoors
this FREE class offers a unique atmosphere to relax and invigorate
at the same time. In addition, participants can enjoy the great
view of the Connecticut River.
Starting
June 23, certified yoga instructor Lori Watkins of Sundrai
Massage Therapy will teach Yoga classes at Main Street Park every
Tuesday mornings at 8:00 running until Tues Sept. 1st.
Participants
need to bring a mat or a towel. Beginners, intermediate and advanced
welcome.
In case
of bad weather, the rule of thumb is, if it is drizzling, raining
or has just rained class is cancelled.

What's
Going on in Essex?
Come
along and see what the Essex Park and Recreation Department
offers the residents of our three village.
We maintain 10 different scenic
locations that offer residents everything from swimming to baseball
fields to the perfect picnic spot. Each park offers its own
unique features to suit many needs.
Throughout the seasons, we
offer many programs that delight all ages and tastes, whether you
like sports, hiking, swimming, picnicking or just taking a stroll
.and
dont forget, we have something for mans best friend
our
new Paw Park at Viney Hill Brook Park!
Take
a stroll and see what goes on in the little town of Essex.
Along
with our programs, we provide the locations for many local organizations
to have their Farmers Markets, the Essex Lions Lobster Bake,
Craft Fairs, and many other events including the popular Summer
Concert Series on Wednesday nights this summer.
The
commission is constantly seeking new programs and ways to improve
our existing ones. If you have any suggestions or would like to
be involved, please come to one of our meetings held the first Wednesday
of each month at Essex Town Hall at 7:00 PM or contact the Park
and Recreation Director.
