Daycare Centers

The Essex Health Department inspects Child Day Care Centers and Group Day Care Homes as required by the Connecticut State Department of Public Health every two (2) years and prior to a new license being issued.
     A Child Day Care Center provides a program of supplementary care for more than 12 children. A Group Day Care Home provides a program of supplementary care for 7-12 children. Family Day Care Homes consist of up 6 children all are regulated by the Connecticut State Department of Health as well.
